What a difficult year it has been for all.
For me, I had a couple of commissions to complete in isolation (well, truthfully I always work in isolation, I’m ok with that!) and on a positive note Lockdown did give me time to concentrate on a cabinet making project that I have had in the back of my mind for some time.
Here’s a snapshot of how my design work went for me during 2020!

New Sunrise Garage Door
I really enjoyed working on this garage door project, not only was I mostly outside (and in isolation) during the lovely weather we had but I particularly like the challenge of complicated designs! You can see I have used a twist on the traditional sunrise pattern that has been popular in architecture since the 1930s. It brings contemporary to Modernity. I'm really happy with the result.

Burr Wood Chest
Another tricky project with curved edges throughout and tricking stringing marquetry using a darker contrast wood inlaid in the carefully selected burr veneer. This photo shows the chest being prepared for its last finish.

A Series of Wood Seating
This was great fun to make and the client has now been able to have them installed. Possibly more photos to follow of them in-situ.
