If you would like to discuss a furniture design project, please feel free to get in touch, either by e-mail or telephone. There is no obligation on either side until a design, price and delivery schedule has been mutually agreed. How we arrive at that point is up to us, but typically includes preliminary discussion of the project in broad terms of form and function. More detailed work can follow where sketches are produced and such considerations such as shape, size, species of timber/veneer, construction techniques, finishes, etc. can be explored in depth. Ideally an on-site visit, though not essential, can be very helpful in determining the final design of a piece. This furniture making process takes as long as it takes, but time spent at this stage is never wasted because it is critical to the final outcome.
Should a commission be agreed, I will ask for a deposit of one third of the total cost in order to commence work, the balance being payable on delivery of the completed piece. The total fee will be full and final settlement, but does not include delivery. You would be more than welcome to visit the workshop to see how the project is progressing-this would be by prior arrangement as I really don’t do mornings, at all, being a night owl.
The last point to emphasise is that I neither make or fit kitchens, as my disdain for them, which borders on the pathological, is only surpassed by my antipathy for Marmite, Caravanning and Gracie Fields.
