Circular Bespoke Dining Table

I do find that most clients take a keen interest in how this stuff is actually made, so I thought it might be of wider interest to include from time to time some pictures showing the various stages of construction.

Right is a circular dining table made for Anne Haley.

bespoke furniture design — The veneer for the central portion of the table laid out prior to gluing down on the substrate. This table needed 64 separate leaves leaves of ripple sycamore laid in sequence.

bespoke dining table veneer — The edge detail under construction. This required two separate jigs in conjunction with a router - one to cut the shape of the wave on the edge, and the other jig the cut the wave shape of the contrasting veneer.

Bespoke furniture design - table base — The legs being glued to the supporting rails. The legs were constructed from thin strips of solid maple which were tapered and glued together in a male/female clamping jig. The legs themselves are fixed to the rails using a bridle joint, which can be partially seen on the previous two pictures.
